Photo taken and edited by J.Pecora for an Art show flyer. Light Painting was done in the studio as separate exposures and layered into the initial portrait via Photoshop. Initial Portrait and all light painting exposures were captured in our studio. This project was a lot of fun :)!
As I wonder the woods a long the Shades of Death trail in Hickory Run state park I notice a beautiful rattle snake basking in the speckled sunlight. I lay down with my camera in hand and begin shooting with only a few feet of space and my lens between us. After a few moments her eyelids raise and she looks at me. It is not a look of fear or aggression. She does not rattle she does not even move. As we lay in the sun looking at one another we seem to find an understanding. There is no harm meant by either party. We are both here soaking up the light and celebrating a moment of peace in the forest.
